Eastern Form (Tradition) Monastics
The eastern form of monasticism with the Orthodox-Catholic Church of America is basically built from the "accepted norm" of monasticism within the Eastern Orthodox Church. All monastics are members of the Orthodox-Catholic Church of America.
We have made some minor changes to the Eastern Orthodox Church's norms only in the vestments of each "rank" and in the titles of the monastics. Monastics who are not clergy will be called Brother/Sister whereas those of the clergy ranks shall use their appropriate clergy title. The Synod of Bishops has allowed for the monastics to use the Eastern Orthodox monastic terms if the monastic so desires. For a more in depth understanding of the eastern form of monasticism as found within the Orthodox-Catholic Church of America, please read the web pages written covering the different eastern "ranks" of monasticism -- Riasaphor Monastic, Stavrophor Monastic, Angelic Schema Monastic.
The Daily Rule for the eastern form monastics will consist of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, daily spiritual readings (including the Holy Scriptures and the Church Fathers), work (type that will be financially supporting), and ministry. The eastern form monastic will be expected to attend Liturgy at least on Sundays and Feast Days.
The monastic vestments for each "rank" is listed on the different web pages concerning the "ranks". The monastic will decide if they want to wear the Greek style monastic vestments or the Russian/Slavic style monastic vestments. For the Angelic Schema Monastic, their Schema stole shall be of the Greek style.
